Business Background
After about 23 years in the IT industry, I started my own IT consulting practice, iBTS Consulting (Innovative Business Technology Solutions). After about 9 months of consulting, I decided to focus on Business Scorecards, one area I am of very passionate; it is simple yet powerful and is in great demand.
Several IT organizations even after achieving maturity in their core process, ie., software development, are struggling with the enabling processes such as HR, IT, Admin, Purchase and in general the Resource Management. Process Excellence models such as People CMM, ISO 27001, Balanced Scorecard, Knowledge Management are being explored to address the overall Business Excellence required for sustained performance in the market place. Even with all the process improvement initiatives, metrics collection-analysis-reporting continue to remain a weak area.
I have led several process improvement initiative and Balanced Scorecard initiative in some leading organizations. I have designed and implemented processes and applications that encapusulated the practices of these excellence models. To spread the knowledge gained from these initiatives on using Dashboard for driving business results, I started offering services on Business Scorecards and CXO Dashboards. I have partnered with Corporater– the leading provider of Enterprise Performance Management Solutions for providing end-to-end services on Business Scorecards.
My Profile
I am MG Thomas. I help organizations to improve their business performance by designing and implementing Balanced Scorecard and CXO Dashboards.
I have been providing IT services to various Indian and multinational organizations for more than 24 years. I spent a decade in developing applications for the manufacturing sector and another decade in developing applications for several IT organizations. Previously I was heading functions such as software development, Quality (process group), IT applications and IT infrastructure in organizations such as TCS, Futuresoft and Aricent (Flextronics Software Systems). I have led various strategic organization initiatives such as ERP rollouts, CMMI, ISO 9001, People CMM, Balanced scorecard, ISO 27001 (Information Security), TL9000 (Telecom.) and Knowledge Management. I have architected integrated systems that incorporated the diverse requirements of the above business excellence frameworks.
I believe a well designed Scorecard is a ‘must-have’ for any senior executive of the organizations striving for growth and excellence. Scorecard is one initiative that is easy to understand and gives high ROI.
